Science for our Future
I am a beekeeper dedicated to developing a strain of bee acclimatized to my local climate north central Wisconsin. I have reduced treatments to once per year in fall and only propagate from colonies that have proven to winter well, explode into monster colonies when our flow starts, produce large honey crops yet know when to slow down when nectar sources slow down. Colonies must also be workable with little or no smoke when good weather is available. I have reduced chalk brood to a minimum and hope to be rid of it in a few more seasons.
I produce honey, nucleus colonies and queens with a goal to be a full time beekeeper in a few years and be able to dedicate my career to apiculture.
